Are you in the market for manufactured home appliances? While the majority of manufactured homes already include appliances, this does not mean you cannot choose to provide your own. However, you will not likely receive a discount on the home because you do not accept the appliances already placed in the home.
Of course, most people choose the appliances even when they buy a new home and sometimes they may even negotiate the purchase of appliances with the seller if it is their first home. It is frequently better to keep the appliances already in your manufactured home since they are usually included with the warranty on your home. Of course, if you purchase a used home, this may not be the case. If the home is out of warranty, you will probably find the appliances are as well.
In most manufactured homes you will find a stove and refrigerator, but newer models are likely to include a dishwasher as well. As more people are buying freezers in addition to the refrigerator unit, you may also find a freezer in your manufactured home as well as a washer and dryer. However, if you want to bring your own or the home doesn’t include some appliances you wish to have, you have to be aware of space considerations.
While this may not be problem if you are buying a double wide manufactured home, it might be a problem for a single wide model. Before you make a decision about any appliances, you need to obtain the measurements for the area in which the appliances will be placed.
Many manufactured homes today also include microwave ovens. They may be stand alone models or they may be the space-saver units that fit under the counters. One thing to keep in mind is if you have the space-saver model it may be smaller than what you are currently using where you live. This is not necessarily true since there are large capacity space saver models, but you need to find out before you move in so that you can make any adjustments necessary to meet the needs of your family.
If you are buying a used manufactured home or mobile home, you may not find the same appliances as a new model. The reason for this is because the original owner may have taken the appliances to their new home or they may have worn out and the owner chose not to replace them. These are all factors you must consider before you make a final decision on a manufactured home and manufactured home appliances.
All in all, just be sure to have proper measurements of the appliance areas before purchasing any appliances for your manufactured home. If you are simply replacing the old appliances, you might be able to simply measure the old appliances themselves to get a perfect measurement. Otherwise, be sure to measure with the intent to leave at least a half inch around the appliance.
